Clear car lights

I recently wrote a tutorial about changing the colour of the car lights. However, in this tutorial I show you how give your car lights a clear look. This process is even simpler than changing the colour as only the channel mixer property needs to be adjusted.

Clear car lights

Step 1

Open an image of a car in Photoshop, use an image with has rear lights.

Step 2

Select the lasso tool or quick mask tool and make a selection around the areas of the car light like below:




Step 3

Select Image > Adjustment > Channel Mixer and check the Monochrome tab at the bottom of the pop-up window then click ok. You can adjust the constant slider which will increase/decrease the brightness of the clear colour.



You should now have clear car lights.
